Proposed Apostate takeover campaign
by zound infictional apostate takeover campaign.
stage #1.. what if in a town that had a particularly large amount of apostates and ex-jw's, over a period of a few months, they started going to a small congregation.
either pretending they were bible studies or just returning jw's, they got good standing in the congregation, priveleges etc.

My mom is into "The Secret"
by BlackWolf inlately my mom's gotten into all kinds of weird "power of positive thinking" kind of stuff.
she watches "the secret" and bob proctor videos all the time, and now she's trying to get me into it.
to me her being into this sort of thing seems kind of hypocritical.

It seems that your mother is not happy with her life. She's not getting anything out of that 'spiritual food' so she turns to anything that she thinks will lessen her misery.
Think of yourself first and look forward to the day you'll be free.

Did you have a favorite pub . . .
by compound complex inpublication, that is?.
i just found all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial in storage.
i enjoyed studying it, as well as make sure of all things, hold fast to what is fine.. our thinking has changed, of course, but, back then, did you have a wt publication you especially liked?.

Eva and snowbird, the Aid book was in the top three for me. Even my judicial committee recommended it for study while disfellowshipped.
I heard that Raymond Franz had a large part in its creation.

CoCo,
Make Sure of All Things, Hold Fast to What Is Fine.
That was my favorite. It got down to basic scriptures. The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life (The blue bomb) was my second favorite. I ordered it in 60+ languages (which got tossed after I learned about TTATT). The funny thing that I saw was the Russian version which had the word Pravda on the spine.

july 17 questions from readers.... the way this part is worded screams cult to me, i was quite amused.. how a christian chooses to protect himself, his family, or his possessions is, of course, largely a personal matter, as is his choice of employment.. geee!
thanks watchtower for allowing me to "largely chose my own employment" you are a generous cult lol.

Another image showing the distinction between the two; the last two are "NATO" and "Russian" side by side:

Crazyguy,
I thought a AK was a 308 caliber or equivalent?
An AK 47 fires a 7.62 X 39 bullet. A .308 rifle like the HK and others fires a 7.62 X 51 bullet (Informally known at one time as .308 NATO.). The latter cartridge is much more powerful than the AK 47's cartridge.
In the image below the middle two cartridges are the 7.62 X 51 side by side with the 7.62 X 39 (Russian).

Crazyguy,
I want an assault rifles but one big enough to hunt. AK47 American made by century arms looks good and can be baught for about $600.
Hunting deer (?) with any .223 rifle is illegal in most areas because its cartridge is too weak to immediately put the deer down. It's marginal with an AK 47 because its cartridge is barely enough to do the job. Its accuracy also leaves much to be desired.
I would bite the bullet and get an HK 91 or one of its aftermarket clones. Its .308 is sufficient for hunting. It is also one of the most accurate and durable rifle in its class.

.22's are a lot of fun. Cheap and fun. My plinking .22lr
I'm crying over my beer but I haven't fired anything in over 20 years. Too dangerous here even with only a .22.

Hi Village! Those look like .22s to me. Why did you have to sell everything?
Long story short, starvation (Didn't want any food stamps). Also I live in a virulently anti-gun state.
I still have .22s. Like this one.
It was a gift from Guns and Ammo magazine. Long story. It's been locked up in my safe for 30 years unfired.
